To keep in the spirit of the time, the handrails and the cleats were reproduced as it was done in the era of steam. boat.
Installation of portholes, handrails, bittes and cleats.
Here is the range of varnishes that I use.
The only paints available to me during containment being brilliant, I spent a rustic matt varnish from Avel. This is what I did on one of my previous achievements. I was very satisfied to give it more realism.
Painting in the colors of an old tug company from the port of Nantes.
By covering the wooden bathtub and creating a skylight in the spirit of Yachts, I wanted to accentuate the promenade function of this conversion of this old river tugboat

The cockpit received its first coat of varnish.
These views show the complexity of the cockpit. It remains to make the rear wall of the superstructure.

The gas tank, in the foreground the mini regulator with double membrane, the vertical burner (due to the lack of space) and at the bottom on the aluminum support the gas cut-off valve.
The steam unit has been fixed on an aluminum plate to facilitate its maintenance and to have the possibility of placing it in another shell.
The hull seen in profile.
It was by seeing a video on one of these little tugs that I decided to make this tug with a hull that I had for several years. Tugging did not tempt me, too much seen, until watching this video. The model is very original which is not to displease me.
Having neither the tools nor the ability to make the steam engine, I asked my friend Jean-Paul Bourdillat to study a steam unit for me.
Taking advantage of the confinement, I started building with the materials at my disposal.
First difficulty adapting the deck to the hull when there is no plan. Then you have to adapt the superstructure to the machinery.
