LAISSE LES DIRE OSTRÉICOLE SLOOP BY MATHIEU
Laisse Les Dire is an oyster sloop built in 1929 by the Bernard de Charente shipyards, it measured 7 meters without the bowsprit. These typical Oléron sloops had a powerful engine, mainsail, jib and staysail. They washed up on oyster beds. Here began the hard work of collecting using forks as shown in one of the photos, as well as small tools such as scrapers, scrapers and jackhammers.
In the winter around February, we practiced ancillary activities such as trawling brown shrimp or flatfish, hence its powerful motorization. For the model, the current owner has given the plans and surveys to the Drac. Mathieu redesigned a plan for a reduced model. The fishermen were equipped with tray clogs which served to keep them from silting up on the oyster beds.
He is represented here at 1/15.
